Mission

Chamberly’s mission is to harness the hospitality of live chamber music by producing intimate performances, workshops, and educational opportunities of exceptional artistic quality in accessible settings that generate joy, boost socio-emotional, mental, and physical well-being, and encourage the growth of compassionate communities.

Founded in 2017 as the Burbank Chamber Music Society by professional musicians and best friends Renee Henn and Nicolina Logan as graduates of UCLA and the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Chamberly is a collective of professional musicians, performing artists, educators, researchers, healthcare workers, wellness practitioners, and arts and healthcare activists inspired by the transformative healing powers of live music. With enthusiasm, research, and a collaborative spirit, we work together to curate informed small-scale performances, workshops, and educational opportunities on myriad topics that bring live music directly into the practice of improving public health.

Operating as the Burbank Chamber Music Society from 2017 - 2022, our initiatives significantly increased Southern Californians’ access to the unique joy and camaraderie of sharing live chamber music, serving over 1,000 community members by producing 25 no-cost admission public performances of diverse music for small ensembles. Burbank Chamber Music Society contributed substantially to the growth of the regional creative infrastructure by creating hundreds of jobs for local musicians, commissioning and premiering 11 new works by living composers and collaborating with visual arts organizations, dance companies, local arts commissions, and independent artists on interdisciplinary projects and city-sponsored events across Los Angeles. Reorganized as Chamberly in 2023, our work is now expanded to include not only live chamber music, but live chamber music combined with other performing arts and other professional fields that research and support cultural health, holistic wellness, and the art of human connection.

We strive to create engaging musical experiences that people of all ages and interests can enjoy, bringing our community together in third spaces to help friends, strangers, locals, and out-of-towners alike bond in a fun, friendly, and positive atmosphere. We are passionate about normalizing 100% access to the often life-changing friendships, clarity, and community that can be built through performing and sharing art, so we maintain a no-cost admission fee to our regular events.

Chamberly aims to explore, celebrate, and measure effective ways to help create a happy, healthy, and more loving world, one moment at a time. Won’t you join us?
